| Here is a representative sample of the abundant feedback we received from the participants of the workshop at Shambhala Mountain Center in Colorado. Thank you to all of you who wrote! The Rise of the Plumed Serpent Newcomers' Feedback From Newcomers
I wanted to share with you a little of what I got out of the workshop. In 1999, I had an attack of what would later be diagnosed as 'possibly MS' while in Kathmandu, attending a monastery dedication and memorial ceremony. During the attack, I lost all of the feeling on the left side of my body. Previously, I had developed some strange issues with my right arm and leg that I basically had ignored. After a long roller coaster of doctors (both Eastern and Western) and tests I came to the realization that I might be able to erase all of my symptoms and return to normal. Possibly because of having the Castaneda books buried in my consciousness, I was convinced that the left side symptoms would be the easiest to disappear because they are somehow 'less real'. Indeed, they have all gone away -- only reoccurring on rare occasions when I get over-tired or over-emotional. The right side symptoms got better as well but never really disappeared and are evident when I do heavy exercise. During the workshop and especially while doing the 'gazing with the ears' magical pass I became sharply aware of differences on my two sides. One thing that came thru clearly to me is that I need to treat my right side with a little more compassion and understanding. But more interestingly, I am now convinced that I can erase the right symptoms as well. Since I am a beginner with the magical passes, my plan is to get the foundation group set as a daily practice and then add in other passes, especially 'gazing with the ears'. I would be very interested in hearing any suggestions that you might have for me regarding this. On another note, I mentioned to Miles and Barbara during the workshop my Buddhist teacher, Frederick Lenz -- also known as Rama. Rama brought a lot of information from Carlos' books into our study of Buddhism and assigned many of them for reading (especially The Art of Dreaming). In many ways our practice was a combination of many different styles of Buddhism with the content of the books, plus some other mystery school tie-ins… I also wanted to thank you for doing the Tensegrity workshop at Shambhala. It's a great venue for concentrating, meditating and learning. I had a wonderful and fruitful time and look forward to seeing you at the next workshop (hopefully in Amsterdam).
We thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and were grateful for the experience of the Shambhala Centre. We were filled with illumination. We also felt grounded and connected to the Earth via the beautiful setting and the natural and healthy way of living. The food was wonderful and we camped with the deer! The feelings I have regarding the exercises related to apology: I feel I was especially fortunate that we (as a couple) were there together to witness each other and give and receive our apologies. I found a great release and realization, that I have always placed blame outside of myself for my experience. Don't quote me on this subject, but if I remember correctly, I believe Aerin touched on the subject of celestial intelligence at one point, and I wanted to ask if she was familiar with Nick Fiorenza's work - in Astronomical Astrology? I find this work complements the teachings of Tensegrity (and the Rinpoche's teachings), expands on the concept of cosmic waves and the Earth's role in receiving and radiating the intelligence that is responsible for our evolutionary awakening. Here is an excerpt from his work: "Learning to feel one's anger without dumping it outside of self is the key here. To be absolutely still when anger surfaces and to simply feel it without moving the body is an incredibly powerful tool to shift this vibrational resonance. Until we move this vibrational level we remain in a re-active behavioral mode. Only when we move above this level do we come to understand how we create our reality and can become responsible co creators of it…” www.lunarplanner.com/Bioenergy/EmotionalToneScale.html
